holy limbs!

so...i have not been the best "mom-tog" (mom that's a photographer....) lately; therefore, the past few days i decided to keep my camera out at an arm's length in order to capture minnie and tully's little 5-month-old moments.

both babies adore the blinky sound the camera makes.  regardless of what activity they are engulfed in, the camera can get and maintain their attention each and every time.  minnie gives me blank looks as she stares into the lens while tully ooohs and hoots like an owl.

some pictures are good.  some are precious.  others, well....are just immediately deleted.

one photo grouping has left me speechless, though.  it's not of tully's doe-like eyes.  it's not of minnie's baby blues.  it's not even the sweet glimpses of them finally noticing each other after 5 plus months of being inseparable.  it's of....their oh-so-precious legs.

when we brought minnie and tully home from the hospital, they had bird legs and that was to put it extremely mildly. i remember thinking they looked like chicken bones about ready to break.  even though they were healthy babies ready to go home with mommy and daddy from the hospital, i couldn't believe that these twins were actually "ready" to go to their new abode with limbs that looked like they did!

while minnie and tully have been healthy little people from the moment they were in utero, seeing them grow, mature, and pick up some poundage has made me feel better as a mommy.  they are not off the growth charts by any means.  however, having them keep up with the rest of the pack in the weight department is reassuring to us as parents.

so.....i give you the gam-pictures.  think of this as a "biggest loser" moment in reverse if you will....

  3. How funny...those could be pictures of our girls legs :) They too looked like little baby birds in the beginning but now have the cutest little rolls (legs and chins)!
