(me smuggling an extra-large bowling ball)
week 29 does not sound like a "big" week in the scheme of a pregnancy. getting through this given week isn't a big milestone regarding twin progress, and honestly, the information in books or online doesn't give it too much detail. however, for me this has been my hardest week, thus far, in my pregnancy.
technically, i feel just fine. i have not run any marathons. i haven't moved any big mountains. i have not even worked over at school like many teachers have as they anticipate the beginning of a new school year. overall, i haven't "pushed" myself too, too hard.
however, i have felt more pregnant and have felt the effects of these growing twins more in the past week than ever before. physically.....hmmmmm. once, i was walking up the steps to check on ben's progress with the cribs and had to lay on my left side for a bit once i got up the steps (it was like walking up the steps of an egyptian pyramid). each and every morning, i roll myself out of bed and the little "oomph" sound has turned into a nice mommy grunt. i even got tired shopping for matching smocked outfits for the twins and had to sit on a kiddie chair (it did make me feel good, though, that my preggo bottom could remotely fit!).
on top of all of the changes i feel, let's move onto the emotional aspects of this week. heavens....poor ben. some people get snappy. others yell. maggie......cries. in the past 7 days, i have cried 4 times. i do NOT cry nor am i a pretty crier. i used to cry all of the time in high school and even into college; however, the craziness of post-college life made me immune to the disease of constant crying. that was until now!
even though ben reassured me each and every time that i am crying for a good, relative reason (leave it to sad situations and people saying not-so-smart things), i just hate it. i like the relaxed, cool-calm-collected pregnant maggie......NOT sad maggie.
so, i am thrilled to see this past week come and go. though everything continues to go extremely well and though so many other pregnancies have had serious complications by this point, it was just a hard week for me personally. this post is truly a whining-infested one. i need to just be thankful and move on with these little ones growing about inside my belly!
i was thrilled to get through yesterday's weekly appointment with flying colors. week 30 has been given a green light "go" and i'm ready to move on into it!
