ben is practicing his moves with our adopted daughter, mary carlisle. he is already a loving, caring, & huggable daddy.
this snap & go was slightly harder to assemble than it looked. i tried to lift the carrier out of it once and would've dumped a baby onto the floor. ben did it all perfectly
the 1st time (of course). he can definitely drive this sucker better, too!
assembling one corsican crib is difficult. assembling 2 in a room with no lighting and no help (minus that of a pregnant lady who can't lift anything) is pretty frustrating. besides the few expletives that jumped out of ben's mouth while assembling them, his efforts were a success!
1. how are YOU doing?
2. how do YOU feel?
3. how are YOU sleeping?
4. are YOU feeling the babies a lot?
5. are YOU nervous?
6. what is YOUR due date?
7. how was YOUR appointment this week?
8. can YOU believe there are 2 babies in there?
9. what are YOUR cravings?
10. and the infamous.....how much weight have YOU gained?
almost all of these questions have come out of my mouth at some point in time to preggo family members or friends of mine. they are logical questions to ask someone with a growing belly. however, i realized that someone is almost ALWAYS left out of the equation when questions are asked....how is the daddy?
now, i will be honest. whenever ben says "what can i do" i always look at him with a blank look and point to my belly and say "ben, you have done plenty. believe me, you have literally done "two" much!"
that being said, i honestly could NOT have made it to 30 weeks without him. he can be slightly overprotective. he can sometimes shove food down my throat when i think no more can fit. he can ask some questions that make me want to throw a boppy at him (ex: i don't understand, why are you crying?).......but all of those lovely traits aside, he is simply wonderful.
he has put everything together. he has not missed a doctor's appointment. he asks questions out of genuine concern that i would forget to even ask. he puts me and these babies first every single day. i am glad that after awhile of taking him for granted, i realized i am pretty darn lucky he stuck around for me to get my bleached-blonde head on straight!
i know everyone thinks that their hubbies are the best dads. that's honestly how it should be. i just can't wait to add ben's name to the best daddies list once these twins arrive. to the 3 of us (me, our son, and our daughter), ben's already won.
This reminds me of JD. He was so protective of me when I was pregnant, now he is super protective over our little baby. Before I gave birth, my sister in law told me to watch out for the overwhelming feelings of love for your hubby once the baby arrives. Something happens to the 2 of you when you make a person (people in your case). The love between you grows more than you can imagine. Get ready!
ReplyDeletebeautiful. i'm so thankful that YOU have HIM! he is going to be a fantabulous daddy! (and you will be an amazing mommy!). love your cribs. am impressed at your progress. and oh.my.word.you.are.30.weeks.tomorrow...right? you (and ben!) have hit the "thirties"! praise.the.Lord! HE is so GOOD!
