we broke up the trip heading down to rosemary & it definitely helped. sweet aunt donna and uncle louis, along with their precious girls mary mac & libby, showered the babies with a birmingham baby shower when we arrived. the girls (aka future babysitters) decked the babies out with his & her lambies, onesies, and books. these twins are spoiled already!
we headed out early sunday and made the typical 4-hour beach trek in about 6 and 1/2 hours. yes.....an extremely patient husband was leading the way! though he had to make multiple stops including those for the bathroom, sonic powerade slushies, and lunch, we made it to the beach as a happy, expecting couple!
these twins have loved the water this week. from wading into the ocean to floating the day away in the pool, the babies really kick up a storm the minute i make it into any body of water.
though the florida heat is definitely prevalent, it feels so good to either be out and about or cooling off!
besides getting super-winded while trying to find our cabana and lounge chairs, the week has been quite relaxing. (minus the one time i got a little bit of pregnancy anger. you see, i saw a girl perched on the side of the pool the other day looking like a model plucked from a photo shoot. perhaps a wee-bit of jealousy crept into my growing-belly. i couldn't decide if i should knock her bikini-clad behind into the pool or beach myself beside her:)
we hit week 25 this week. wow....25 weeks along! from having hair on their little heads to being able to hear our voices, they truly are precious people in the making! they are supposedly the size of a rhutabega this week. if you are like me, that means nothing. i didn't grow up eating those things so i have no clue what size they are. i just know they are growing! i looked back at our 6-week ultrasounds last week and simply can't believe how they've gone from little blinking fireflies to babies! what god does inside our preggo bellies is nothing short of an amazing miracle!
we truly don't take it for granted we are over 6 months along. though we have heard a significant amount of twins/multiples success stories, we also know that anything can happen at any moment. that's what makes being preggo with more than one friend a more "day by day" progression. we don't know when these little ones will come. we don't know when/if issues with me will creep into play; however, we know that once they are here and well, they will love the beach like mommy and daddy do!
i. want. to. be. on. the. beach. with. you! :) i hope youre having a BLAST!
