where does it go...

time....the time you had to go meet friends.  the time you had to run to nashville to grab dinner with your close girlfriend.  the time you had to run to target and get lost in whatever section you want.  the time you had to do all of the household chores you once hated.  the time you had to take a long night with your hubby and feel like you are on your first date with him again.  where....does....it.....go????

i now see what people mean when they tell you "you better appreciate your time while you have it".  i was fed that line i swear one hundred thousand times while i was pregnant.  it just sounded so negative...so "doom and gloom" like life after birthing babies was a downward spiral.  that is NOT the case.  it is, however, different.

the past month has been filled with so many wonderful moments.  minnie & tully have filled each and every day with burps, smiles, little looks, etc that are truly priceless.

i do, however, feel like i missed the last month of summer heat because i have been trapped inside with these little miracles for 30+ days straight.  while i have lost my marbles at times, i wouldn't change a thing.  these beginning moments of their lives will never be able to be replayed.  their first month is, well, over.  ben and i will never be able to get it back.

knowing that, we have to move forward.  we have to keep changing them.  we have to keep breast feeding them.  we have to keep soothing them when we can't find the magic cure to make them stop.  we have to continue to learn each and every day how to make their lives easier & better.  we owe them that. in the course of all of this learning, our "time" as we knew it has and will continue to change.

  1. I just found your blog via TBB! Your twins are adorable! My husband and I have three little ones and we're in the process of adopting twins from Ethiopia... I'm thinking it will be a boy and a girl and my husband thinks 2 little guys! I look forward to following along on your journey and hopefully will pick up some tips along the way!
    Blessings.
